Many Android device owners are still waiting to receive firmware updates on Verizon devices, two of them being the HTC Rezound and DROID Incredible 2.
The owners of these two handsets may have something to celebrate, as the latest news is that the carrier is preparing to release new software updates.
However, Droid Life reported today that the updates are only going to introduce ‘HTC Device Enhancement’ on both the handsets.
The HTC Rezound and DROID Incredible 2 are desperately in need of Android OS updates, rather than enhancements. The DROID Incredible 2 still hasn’t been updated to Ice Cream Sandwich, and HTC Rezound needs Jelly Bean.
Rumors suggest that Google might release Android 5.0, Key Lime Pie, this spring. Consumers stuck with ICS and JB may feel left behind, which has the potential to hurt Android’s credibility.
There is no word yet on when Verizon will roll out the updates, but more information is expected in the next few days.
