Vets Eat Free At Hooters, Applebee’s, Chick-fil-A, Chili’s & More On 11/11

Hooter’s recently announced that active-duty service personnel and veterans can get a free entree on Veterans Day, Tuesday, November 11.

The owl-themed wings and sauce restaurant (which, it should be noted, also features the country’s friendliest orange-shorted servers in the business) has served and supported the U.S. military for over 30 years. According to its Vice-President of Marketing, Andrew Puddick, “[We] hope they’ll join us this Veterans Day for a fun dining experience on the house.”

Along with the free entree promotion, Hooter’s is also coordinating its annual Operations Calendar Drop program. Customers can purchase a calendar and include a personal message to the troops, and Hooter’s will deliver these to service men (and women) serving overseas.

No coupon is required; to be eligible for the deal, a member of the military only needs to present an I.D. to any of the ubiquitous Hooter Girls standing at the ready.

Other restaurants offering free meals, discounts and/or specials to vets on Veteran’s Day include Applebee’s, Bob Evans (pancakes), Carraba’s (free appetizer), Chick-fil-A, Denny’s (build your own Grand Slam 5am to noon), Chili’s, Golden Corral (5pm – 9pm on Nov 17th), Krispy Kreme (free doughnut and small coffee), Outback (free Bloomin’ Onion and a non-alcoholic beverage), Shoney’s (free burger), Texas De Brazil Churrascaria (50% off), and Village Inn (free breakfast, choice of 3 items).

The Military Wallet features an extensive list and further details on participating restaurants. They do recommend that veterans bring proof of military service and call ahead to verify locations, times, and participation.
