Walmart’s Cyber Monday will be a week long event event to counter last week’s big sale at Amazon, which took a large portion of the online sales over the week of Thanksgiving with its Black Friday Deals Week.
The holiday week saw specials and deals from merchants both online and in stores and Walmart was no exception. However, many customers were disappointed to find that the retail giant’s online specials sold out quickly and they could not capture the deal they were searching for.
Amazon, however, had a week-long sales event that included deals that lasted the entire week, special daily deals and even limited time and quantity lightening deals that could be had. These specials brought the online retailer a large share of the online business that Walmart had hoped to garner.
The retail giant is fighting back with its own special week-long event in the hopes it can be at the top of the heap when it comes to Cyber Monday shopping. Beginning at midnight Sunday and lasting until Friday December 3, Walmart will be having what it calls Cyber Week Deals.
The company has kept the details of the sale secret so that consumers have no choice but to visit the website to see what is offered. The retailer will be offering free shipping to home or store with purchases as part of their deals.
Walmart is hoping that by offering a week-long sale to its customers, it will bring back the business it needs and take it away from competitors including online giant Amazon.
It is expected that most merchants will be focusing on electronics over the Cyber Monday deals, but with a week-long sale it would be expected that other categories such as home products and toys will be included as well.
