Walmart Refuses To Carry UFC Fighter Ronda Rousey’s Book

In a move that is seen as hypocritical by many, Walmart (WMT) has decided not to offer Ronda Rousey’s memoir within their brick-and-mortar stores, on the grounds that the content has been deemed too violent.

The chain store, however, which is the largest carrier of guns and ammunition in America, offers the book within their online store.

“My Fight/Your Fight,” Rousey’s personal story of hardships and rising above challenges, has already pre-sold thousands of copies through Barnes & Noble alone. The undefeated UFC bantamweight champion will be making appearances on various morning shows in the coming days to promote her book.

Straying from her fighting career, Rousey has shifted into acting, costarring in “Furious 7,” which opened last Friday. The film itself earned over $143 million this weekend. She will also be seen in the upcoming “Entourage” movie, which opens in June.

The book, retailing an average of $16 to $20 hardcover, and $12 digitally, is now available for pre-order, and will be released May 12th.
