Walmart To Price Match Black Friday Ads

Walmart is looking to out-do the competitors on Black Friday by offering to price match any competitor’s Black Friday sale prices in their stores.

This is the first year the retail giant will be price matching the Black Friday sales at other stores. A customer needs only to bring in the sales ad from another store, find the item at Walmart and the cashier will change the price for them at the register.

Price matching is not the only thing the store is doing to entice customers to spend the Friday after Thanksgiving with them. They have also announced a three day sale that will include an online only sale on Thanksgiving, special deals and doorbusters in store on Friday and more deals to be had on Saturday. They will only be providing snacks and entertainment during the Black Friday rush.

Executive Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer of Walmart U.S., Stephen Quinn, said in the announcement that the company wants this year’s Black Friday to be a special and festive event. He noted that cashiered were fully trained to match the competitors ads at the registers to save the customer time.

Walmart will kick off the festivities at midnight with some of their special deals beginning at five am.
