Was Bruce Willis Fired? Rumors Are Flying

The Woody Allen movie that hasn’t got a name now has a job opening. Rumor has it that actor Bruce Willis was fired, although Allen’s publicists say he had a scheduling conflict considering his upcoming role on Broadway in Misery, an adaptation of the Stephen King novel.

Allen’s film, as yet untitled, already has a glorious ensemble cast that includes Jesse Eisenberg and Kristen Stewart (who star together in American Ultra, which was released this week), Parker Posey, Jeannie Berlin, Corey Stoll, Ken Stott, Blake Lively, Anna Camp, Stephen Kunken, Sari Lennick and Paul Schneider.

The rumors are flying that Willis was fired. This has set off an avalanche of accusations dredged up from the media mills about how difficult Willis is to work with in past productions. Any random faux pas from previous productions are now being revisited. Notable among them, was his recent failure to reach a salary agreement to appear in Expendables 3. Apparently, he thought he could out-muscle Arnold Schwarzenegger and others in the salary department and that didn’t work out. His demands, well covered in entertainment glossies were for a salary of $4 million for four days of work, which set of a Sylvester Stallone rampage in which he called Willis “greedy and lazy.” (He was replaced in the film by superstar Harrison Ford.)

Meanwhile, the Woody Allen camp has said there was a scheduling conflict. So much for rumor mongering
