Ubisoft has officially revealed and confirmed that Watch Dogs will launch on PC, Xbox, and PlayStation platforms on May 27th.
While Watch Dogs was planned to be a multi-platform launch title for next-gen consoles, a delay pushed its release back to Spring of 2014. Thanks to the exact 27th date found in this trailer, gamers are able to plan their calendars more effectively.
The plot of Watch Dogs follows players in the role of Chicago city hacker Aiden Pearce. Using the technology of the residents around you, it’s your job to take the law into your own hands to atone for the sins of your criminal past.
The game has fallen under heavy controversy over the past few months with a prank involving an abandoned trademark, and a slight connection to Rockstar’s Grand Theft Auto V.
Many have speculated that the success of the latest GTA inspired Ubisoft to take their concept back to the drawing board to further improve Watch Dogs.
It should be noted that a Wii U version is also in development, but a release frame for that will be announced at a later date.
Will you be buying Watch Dogs on day one, or is it just a casual gamer cash cow?
