The first full teaser trailer for the upcoming science-fiction thriller, Transcendence, has been released!
Transcendence stars Johnny Depp as Dr. Will Caster, an artificial intelligence researcher who is shot with a radiation-filled bullet.
His body quickly begins to waste away; however, his mind remains functional.
Caster’s friends try to bring him back by uploading his consciousness into a machine in which Caster is able to fully communicate with others.
However, they quickly realize what can happen when artificial intelligence becomes self aware…and smarter than the mind of the average human being.
The thriller costars Rebecca Hall, Paul Bettany, Kate Mara, Cillian Murphy and Morgan Freeman.
Transcendence is the first feature film directed by Wally Pfister. Pfister is best known for his work as a cinematographer with Interstellar director Christopher Nolan.
Pfister has previously worked with Nolan on several films, including the Dark Knight trilogy and Inception.
Transcendence is scheduled to open in theaters April 18, 2014.
