Fitness Magazine has come out with the ten best workout DVDs of 2014. The DVDs on this list were tested by over 220 individuals and vary by price and focus.
Bear in mind that some of these DVDs require the use of extra equipment, such as yoga mats and dumbbells, that do not come included with the purchase of the DVDs themselves.
The DVDs that made the list are:
1. Piloxing System
This DVD, priced at $80, combines pilates and boxing for an intense cardio workout. Piloxing System also includes weighted gloves with purchase that are used during certain exercises to target arm muscles.
2. The Biggest Loser: 8-Minute Body Blasters
With five eight-minute, high-intensity circuits, this DVD is a good option for those who can only spare a few minutes a day to exercise. This DVD is priced at $10.
3. Denise Austin: Burn Fat Fast Latin Dance
Fitness instructor and former member of the President’s Council on Physical Fitness and Sports, Denise Austin, emphasizes cardio workouts through a half an hour of Latin dancing. This DVD is priced at $15.
4. Jillian Michaels Yoga Inferno
On this $10 DVD, Jillian Michaels combines yoga, strength training, and cardio in two half hour sessions.
5. Focus T25
For $120, Focus T25 provides eleven twenty-five-minute intense workout sessions that work several different muscle groups. This program is to be done over the course of ten weeks to build a strong foundation and core.
6. Sexy Abs Cardio Sculpt with Kelly Rowland and Hollywood Trainer Jeanette Jenkins
Singer Kelly Rowland and trainer Jeanette Jenkins instruct one hour of different five-minute segments that work your entire body. This workout incorporates different methods of training including kickboxing, weight training, and yoga. This DVD is priced at $20.
7. Bob Harper The Skinny Rules #3: Strength
This $10 DVD, the third out of a five set series, consists of four fifteen-minute sessions of full body workouts that focus on building muscle mass.
8. Elements of Yoga: Air and Water with Tara Lee
Focusing on vinyasa flow yoga, this DVD includes movements that will tone, stretch, and relax. It is priced at $15.
9. BeFit: 30-day Butt Lift
This is another good option for those with busy schedules and limited time to exercise, as one will only need to set aside ten minutes a day for this toning-focused exercise. This DVD offers six different workouts and is priced at $15.
10. Kristin McGee’s Prenatal Yoga & Pilates
The pilates and yoga on this DVD are specifically designed for pregnant women and offers routines that include toning and meditating. This DVD costs $25.
