Simon Barry, creator and show runner of the wildly popular Canadian sci-fi import ‘Continuum,’ took to Twitter recently to calm the fears of anxious fans eagerly awaiting the show’s renewal for a fourth season.
“News on #Continuum renewal will come early August says @showcasedotca – Thanks for your patience. Believe me, I’m suffering with you…” Barry tweeted to his nearly 5,000 Twitter followers on July 16.
Ranked as the number one original cable drama following its second season, ‘Continuum’ fans have been desperate to find out if Showcase has plans to renew the time-traveling cop drama for a fourth season.
Following its game-changing third season finale cliffhanger that aired in June on SyFy, a widespread #RenewContinuum social media “petition” sprung up online from fans calling on Showcase to go ahead and give a fourth season the green light.
Showcase, for their part, remains tight-lipped about the immediate future of ‘Continuum.’
Will audiences ever find out if Kiera Cameron (the feisty time-traveling detective played by actress Rachel Nichols) finds her way back home to life in 2077?
For ‘Continuum’ fans, only time will tell.
