Wimbledon 2014: Day 6 Schedule, Match ups and Predictions

Day 6 at Wimbledon could turn out to be the most exciting one yet, with some of the biggest names in tennis set to take the court.

ESPN will be covering all the days events from 8 A.M. (EST) to 4 P.M. (EST).

On the men’s side the big match of the day will be Rafael Nadal as he takes on Mikhail Kukushkin on Centre Court.

Nadal is looking to redeem himself after his surprising 1st round exit last year at this event.

Although he is strongest on clay he has been playing extremely well and has had success here before.

His opponent, Mikhail Kukushkin, has never made it this far, but has looked dominant in his first two round match ups.

Nadal won their previous two match ups and this time should be no different: he is the stronger player and Kukushlin does not have a defining shot to give him any type of edge.

On the women’s side Serena Williams faces off against Alize Cornet on No.1 Court in what promises to be a must-see match.

Williams is also looking to redeem herself after what she called an “embarrassing” loss to Cornet at the Dubai Open earlier this year.

Cornet is a strong opponent, but if Williams blocks out that prior loss she should come away with the win here.
