Wisconsin Road Conditions Lead To Statewide Travel Advisory

Wisconsin road conditions due to a blizzard currently underway have led officials to issue a travel advisory statewide.

The Wisconsin Department of Transportation is recommending that no one travel on any Wisconsin highway unless it is absolutely necessary for the rest of the day.

Wind chills are at dangerous levels, there are white-outs being seen in many areas and most roadways are covered in snow and ice. These conditions combined with the possibility of drifting snow lead to dangerous driving conditions.

Governor Jim Doyle as already issued a state of emergency as a precautionary measure. In light of the blizzard taking place he wanted to make certain that resources were available as needed.
