World Cup: Argentina V Belgium – Live Streams, Radio & Prediction

The World Cup quarter finals continue today, and Argentina are facing off against Belgium for a place in the semis. We’ve got details of available live streams below, as well as where you can find live audio and radio commentary.

The match kicks off at 12:00 ET (17:00 BST), and you can watch live coverage on ESPN (subscription required) and ITV. ITV requires you to enter a valid UK postal code if the site cannot verify your location.

Live audio streams are also available curtesy of ESPN and the BBC, and US listeners can tune-in to their local ESPN Affiliate station for radio coverage.

Both of these teams are serious contenders for the title, and anything but their best performances could cost them that elusive place in the semi-finals.

Argentina have been demonstrating their quality throughout the tournament, having won all of their group matches and cruising to a 1-0 victory over Switzerland in the knock out round. The team have a potent weapon up front in the form of Lionel Messi, and he is frequently fed opportunities by Javier Mascherano who dominates the midfield.

Belgium have had a less impressive run up to this point, racking up the wins but without showing any real flair. Only their last nail biting match against the USA really showed their true potential, and they’ll need to bring that same level of play into force against Argentina if they are going to progress.

Never the less, the team have been tipped as the “dark horse” contender for this Word Cup and they have a solid squad to back up that claim.

Of particular concern to Argentina should be Belgian midfielder Kevin De Bruyne, who excels in delivering balls for dangerous shots on goal. He’s also capable of finding the net himself, as he demonstrated to devastating effect in their match against the USA.

There really are no easy games at this stage of the tournament, and I predict this will be a hard fought and very physical game. The bookmakers have Argentina as favorites, but I think if Belgium can produce the relentless pace and spirit that saw them beat the US earlier in the week this is a match they can win.

My prediction: A win for Belgium, 3-2 after extra time.
