2011 MTV VMAs – Winners, Scene Stealers, & Funniest Moments!

Perhaps the most interesting aspect of the 2011 MTV VMAs awards show was an absence of a host, but there was plenty of pre-show host action and outrageous scenes on stage to make up for it.

The winners of the awards were:

Best Video: Katy Perry for “Firework”

Best Female Video : Lady Gaga for “Born This Way”

Best New Artist: Tyler, The Creator for “Yonkers”

Best Male Video: Justin Bieber for “U Smile”

Best Collaboration Video: Katy Perry featuring Kanye West for “E.T.”

Best Hip Hope Video: Nicki Minaj for “Super Bass”

Best Rock Video: Foo Fighters for “Walk”

Best Pop Video: Britney Spears for “Til The World Ends”

Best Video With A Message: Lady Gaga for “Born This Way”

Scene Stealers

Britney Spears picked up a Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award presented by Lady Gaga dressed as a man and avoided a kiss with the line “I’ve already done that.”

Beyonce announced her pregnancy on the VMA black carpet.

Katy Perry brought back memories of his stage-crashing antics during their acceptance for best collaboration video by saying “Now this is a time where you want to interrupt me, Kanye.”

Cloris Leachman was on the stage with her 20-something co-presenters, the ladies of reality show Jersey Shore, when the 85-year old quipped “Everyone your age thinks I’m Betty White.”
