Preview: The Cavs came out strong in game 1 and for a while it looked like they might steal a game, but the Warriors managed to settle down and force the game into overtime.
From there, the Cavs went on a 10-2 scoring spree, securing the win 108-100.
Unfortunately, that overtime session may have cost the Cavs the series, as Kyrie Irving fractured his knee 3 minutes in and is now out for the season.
Without Irving, the chances of LeBron and company winning went from doubtful to just about impossible.
Look at it this way: in game 1 LeBron was a beast, scoring 44 points and Irving was sharp as well – combined they had 67 of the teams points – and yet they didn’t win.
The Cavs, minus Irving, simply don’t have enough offense or a deep enough bench to handle a Warriors team that is defensively solid and has a bench that scored 34 points, along with 19 rebounds, in game 1.
Although GS was a bit slow and their shooting was far from explosive, we all know that is something that will not last.
Game 2 Prediction: Warrior 106-Cavs 90.
