Almost all of the online and in-store retailers taking part in the Hewlett-Packard (HP) TouchPad tablet firesale are out of stock. Best Buy announced Saturday that they were planning to remove their entire stock of HP TouchPads and send them back to HP. Saturday evening they took back their statement and immediately began selling the discounted HP TouchPad tablets online as well as in-store. Sadly, now Best Buy is one of the HP TouchPad resellers that have completely sold out of their HP TouchPad stock.

Quoted from a previous Sure Start article regarding the HP TouchPad sale, “Other retailers have decided to follow Best Buy’s original plan, send their entire stock of HP TouchPad tablets back to Hewlett-Packard due to the current high demand of the device. Even though the Hewlett-Packard website states that they are out of stock of the HP TouchPad, once they receive shipments of them from the retailers sending the device back, Hewlett-Packard will make the TouchPads available for purchase on their online store once again.”

Those interested in purchasing either HP TouchPad tablet model (the 16GB and 32 GB) for clearance price, have the option to be notified by the company when the TouchPad is back in stock on their website: “Due to the significant price reduction, we experienced overwhelming demand for the product and are out of inventory. Please enter your email address below to be notified as soon as we have them back in stock.”

Newegg is one of the few stores that still has HP TouchPad tablets in stock on their website, but their prices have not been adjusted as of yet.
