In a recent interview with popular video game website Destructoid, video game story writing veteran and Irrational Games creative director Ken Levine announced that the upcoming latest installment in the award winning Bioshock franchise, Bioshock Infinite, will not be making it’s way to Nintendo’s newest console, the Wii U.
During the interview, when asked if there was any news regarding the Wii U and Bioshock Infinite that Mr. Levine could divulge, he had this to say:
“We never had any news on the Wii U. I bought one and I like it. I play games on it! But in terms of development, nothing is brewing right now.”
This has to be rather disheartening to Nintendo fans, as the inclusion of a blockbuster third party title such as Bioshock Infinite could be just the thing to convince gamers who haven’t yet bought the Wii U of the system’s potential.
Bioshock Infinite is set to hit store shelves in North America on March 26, 2013, pushed back from its original planned release date for what Irrational Games called “a few more weeks of polish.”
What do you think? Will the fact that Bioshock Infinite won’t be available on the Wii U cause it harm? Sound off in the comments section below.
