BlackBerry Z10 Launches On AT&T, Verizon & T-Mobile | Price, Specs

The new BlackBerry Z10 smartphone had it’s first U.S. launch Friday, March 22nd.

Running the new BlackBerry 10 operating system with a unique touch interface, the Z10 model launched at AT&T on Friday.

It will be followed by other major carrier launches this week.

T-Mobile will start selling the BlackBerry Z10 on Wednesday, March 27th. Verizon will get it out the door the next day,  March 28th.

Most carriers appear to be have a $199.99 price tag for the BlackBerry Z10 with a two-year contract. AT&T and Verizon both had this price listed, but T-Mobile had not yet posted a price for the BlackBerry Z10.

Sprint has BlackBerry phones, but there’s is no mention of the Z10 on its web site.

There’s over 100,000 apps available through BlackBerry App World. However, to jumpstart immediate connectivity, a lot of the more popular communication applications are built-in. Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, Dropbox and many other email and communication apps are included on the phone up front.

The 4G capable BlackBerry Z10 also sports 2Gb of RAM for a Dual-Core 1.5GHz Snapdragon S4 Plus processor, 16Gb of internal storage (expandable to 64Gb with microSD slot) and 1280 x 768 resolution LCD display. An 8MP rear facing camera/2MP front facing camera bring a 1080p HD and 720p HD video recording capability, putting it on par with most of the smartphones on the market. It’s also WiFi capable and can be used as a 4G Mobile Hotspot.

BlackBerry (formerly Research In Motion (RIM)) has had quite a rough time over the last two years. Would you be willing to give the BlackBerry’s Z10 a chance, or is this a dying brand you wouldn’t count on?
