BMW X6 – The Next Generation of Sporty Versatility

BMW has unveiled the second generation of its Sport Activity Coupe, the X6.

The X6 packages the sporting attributes found in BMW’s coupes with the interior versatility of its SUVs.

The new X6 carries an even bolder presence, increases its performance, and improves upon its efficiency.

It also boasts more standard equipment over the outgoing X6 with features such as bi-xenon headlights, automatic tailgate, and the eight-speed Steptronic sport transmission with steering wheel mounted shift paddles.

BMW’s xDrive intelligent all-wheel drive system also comes standard. Models equipped with Dynamic Performance Control can link the AWD system with the adaptive suspension to further improve driving dynamics.

At its December 2014 launch, the X6 will be available in three models: the X6 xDrive50i with a 450 hp V8, the X6 xDrive30d with a 258 hp diesel inline six-cylinder, and the X6 M50d with its 381 hp diesel straight-six with three turbochargers.

Following in the spring of 2015, the 306 hp X6 xDrive35i and 313 hp X6 xDrive40d will join the range.

BMW will release further details closer to the X6’s launch date.
