Captain America’s Star-Studded Hollywood Premiere

The stars came out for the red carpet Hollywood premiere of the latest superhero flick.  Joining Chris Evans, who plays Captain America were fellow Avengers stars Robert Downey Jr. (Iron Man), Chris Hemsworth (Thor), and Samuel L. Jackson (Nick Fury).  Of course, there were several other stars of the Captain America movie in attendance as well, including Hayley Atwell, Sebastian Stan and Dominic Cooper.  The movie was so well received that rumors have started of having a sequel already, although that will have to wait until The Avengers movie has finished filming, pushing the sequel date off until at least 2014.

Additional stars in attendance included Zoe Saldana (from Star Trek and Avatar), Jesse Metcalfe, Dianna Argon and Jessica Szohr.

Captain America: First Avenger is one of the stable of films from Marvel Studios and Paramount Pictures that feature the heroes that will make up The Avengers movie, due to come out in May2012.

With a twist of bittersweet genius, the first touted premiere of the movie happened Thursday night at ComicCon in San Diego to a room full of fans.  However, the film has actually premiered previously in the same week internationally, so it wasn’t a total coup for comic book fans.  The fans knew it, but were enthusiastic to have Chris Evans gab to them before the film started.
