Taking a look at college football this weekend, we have a big SEC rivalry between Penn State, ranked number 23 in the Coaches poll, and Alabama, ranked number 3, in the SEC kick-off. Penn State had a lopsided victory last week against Indiana State, 41 to 7, as did Alabama against Kent State, 48 to 7. This will be the first big challenge of the year for both teams.
Georgia dropped out of the top 25 after last week’s loss against Boise State last week, starting them off with a 0-1 record the year. Their going up against number 12, South Carolina, this week.
Will Tommy Rees come back as strong as before for Notre Dame? We’ll see as they face Michigan.
Auburn fell completely out of the AP Top 25 poll this week – the first time a BCS champion has ever dropped out of a major poll after the first week of the new season. They dropped to number 22 in the Coaches poll. This after they won their game last week against Utah State, but just barely: 42-38. This week they will face a blistering offense in their game against number 17, Mississippi State.
The Oregon Ducks took a bath last week against the LSU Tigers, can they shake it off with a win against Nevada?
Longhorns rolled over Rice with a slow-starting 34-9 victory last week. Can they keep the momentum up against the tougher BYU Cougars this week?
