Disney Cruise Line (DCL) is gradually expanding their ports of call. This time it’s the Disney Wonder visiting a new destination – Hawaii.
According to DCL, the Disney Wonder cruised past Diamond Head and Waikiki Beach yesterday and will be making stops at Hilo, Hawaii; Kahului, Maui; Honolulu, Oahu; and Nawiliwili, Kauai, before heading to Ensenada, Mexico. The cruise will be 15 nights in all. This is the first time that a Disney cruise ship has sailed to Hawaii. A second trip to Hawaii is planned for October.
The Disney Wonder currently calls Los Angeles home, but Disney tends to move their fleet around quite a bit. The Wonder will be moved to the Port of Seattle later this month. She will then head back to Los Angeles for the fall, and in December head to Miami, Fl. She’ll be back on the west coast (Vancouver) in 2012.
There’s three other cruise ships in the Disney line. Disney Magic, Disney Dream, and Disney Fantasy. The newest is the Fantasy, which was home ported at Cape Canaveral, The Dream will also be stationed at Canaveral for now. Disney Magic rotates her homeports between New York City and Galveston.
