GameStop: New Game Trade-In Program Offers Some Great Deals

GameStop, once notorious for their less than generous video game trade-in system, is now offering its customers some amazing used game deals.

In fact, GameStop, according to the “Trade offers” page on their website, is going as far as to accept damaged goods, as fair trade, in exchange for store credit; an act that defies both logic and business sense.

$30 Guaranteed Store Credit

GameStop is now offering a $30 guaranteed store credit to any customer who trades in one of a few select titles at select GameStop stores.

However, the deal in question only applies to the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions of the games (sorry Wii owners), and the offer is only valid while the titles are still priced at $59.00 when bought new.

Defective copies of these games are also eligible for trade in, though the value that you will receive will be significantly reduced.

Eligible Titles :

  • Need For Speed Rivals
  • Super Mario 3D World (a Wii game?*)

*Note: All we can only assume is that when they said “Valid only toward PS3, Xbox 360 versions”, they were specifically referring to Need For Speed Rivals.

30% Extra In-Store Credit

GameStop is also offering 30% more store credit towards select titles when customers trade in any product that is normally accepted for exchange at GameStop retail outlets (games, consoles, tablets, smartphones). Damaged items may also be eligible for trade.

Eligible :

  • Need For Speed Rivals
  • Super Mario 3D World (Wii game)
  • Grand Theft Auto V
  • Fifa Soccer 14
  • Skylanders Swap Force
  • Assassins Creed IV
  • The Legend of Zelda – A Link Between Worlds
  • PlayStation 4
  • Xbox One
  • Madden NFL 25
  • Batman Arkham Origins
  • Splinter Cell Blacklist
  • NHL 14
  • Saints Row IV
  • Legend of Zelda
  • Call of Duty Ghost
  • Pokemon X and Y
  • Battlefield 4
  • NBA 2k14
  • Just Dance 2014

Shoppers can also get a brand spanking new game for only $9 with the trade in of two used games.

In order to receive this deal, the games being traded in must be in good condition (i.e working). View the full list of eligible titles here.
