J.J. Abrams Confirms Cast of Star Wars VII

Director J.J. Abrams has, at long last, confirmed the cast of Star Wars VII!

The Force Is With Us!  Luke Skywalker, Han Solo, and Princess Leia will be back.

With filming imminent in England’s Pinewood Studios, Abrams announced today that a number of familiar faces will, indeed, return to the Star Wars universe. The trio of Mark Hamill, Harrison Ford, and Carrie Fisher will be back in their original roles.

Also returning will be Peter Mayhew as Chewbacca the Wookiee,  Anthony Daniels as protocol droid C-3PO, and Kenny Baker R2-D2.  Composer John Williams, who wrote the scores for all six previous Star Wars movies, will once again be creating the music.

Actors who will be new to the franchise include Oscar Isaac, Max von Sydow, Adam Driver, John Boyega,  and Daisy Ridley.

Additionally, director Abrams released an official photo, which features the cast during a read-through of the script for the upcoming film.

Star Wars: Episode VII is currently set to be released on December 18th, 2015.  Are you looking forward to the latest installment?  Apprehensive about how J.J. Abrams will handle the beloved universe?  Let us know in the comments below.
