Legoland Florida sent out an email today with their new hours and an event calendar for 2013.
The Winter Haven theme park, designed for families with kids ages 2 to 12 in mind, has extended their hours this year. During 2012 the park was open from 10am to 5pm.
During 2013, the park will be open from 9:30am to 6pm, and will be open additional hours during special events.
Legoland Florida opened October 15, 2011 at the location of the former Cypress Gardens. Legoland still maintains a portion of the gardens, and the park has steadily added attractions since its opening. There are now more than 50 rides, shows, and attractions.
The list of 2013 events includes quarterly Junior Master Model Builder competitions. The dates for the competitions are Jan 26/27, May 4/5, July 4/5, and Nov 9/10.
Lego Friends Weekend, a daytime party for girls, will be held Feb 9/10.
Legoland Water Park will open for its summer season on March 9.
Winter Haven Hospital Foundation’s Citrus Classic 5K Run and Fun Walk will be held on April 6.
LEGO Star Wars Days will be on May 4 and 5.
Legolands July 4th celebration, Red, Brick & Boom, will be held over three days, July 4, 5 and 6.
During weekends in October Legoland will their Brick-or-Treat event.
During weeekends in December they’ll be having their Christmas Bricktacular with regular appearances from Santa.
And at the end of the year, Dec 26 – 30, Legoland will have their Countdown to Kids New Year’s Eve Party with fireworks over Lake Eloise. On Dec 31 the park will have a giant Lego brick drop (think Times Square ball drop) at what they call midnight KST (Kid Standard Time) – a convenient-for-parents 6pm.
Except for the 5K Run and Fun Walk, Legoland events are included with regular park admission.
