We came up pretty dry when we investigated smartphone related Memorial Days sales earlier today.
But when it comes to more general sales, we found much larger discounts.
Best Buy is one of the retailers having a Memorial Day sale. Their’s began on Friday and goes through today.
As would be expected, Best Buy’ big push is on HDTV’s, but they also have laptops, tablets, and other items on sale.
One featured item at Best Buy is an Insignia 50″ LCD HDTV for $479.99, $220 off it’s regular price. They also have a Toshiba Satellite 15.6″ laptop on sale for $269.99, a Lenovo IdeaPad 15.6″ laptop for $284.99, and a PlayStation 3 Console Package that includes the All Stars Battle Royale Game for $269.99.

Old Navy’s online Memorial Day sale includes 15% off most items when using a promo code that’s available on their homepage. It’s 20% off if the shopper is using an Old Navy, Gap, or Banana Republic card.
Sears has a Memorial Day sale featuring 30% off many of their appliances. A discount on appliances seems to be Sears’ “go-to” sale whenever a holiday comes along.
They also have an impressive array of lawn mowers and other yard tools on sale. Plus 50% of mattresses with free delivery, and a large number of HDTV’s.
Office Depot has an interesting sale going on: 30% off any one item for Memorial Day. There are exclusions, including tech… but still, that’s a different way to bring shoppers in.
And Aeropostale.com has probably one of the most impressive Memorial Day sales going on this year. 50% off everything they offer in their online store.
There is some fine print of course… it’s tiny and colored in such a way that it fades into the background a bit – but appears to exclude fragrances, licensed products, some styles and gift cards.
