Mission Impossible 5 Is In The Works! Cruise To Produce, Star

Tom Cruise has recently signed a new deal with Paramount Pictures for another installment of Mission: Impossible.

Cruise will be returning to the silver screen for the fifth time in the Mission: Impossible franchise. His representatives confirmed the update to E! News.

Deadline.com reports that the 50-year-old actor will be the star and producer of the upcoming movie.

It is still undecided as to who will direct and write the film, as well as its potential release date. It has been rumored that Christopher McQuarrie, who directed Cruise in Jack Reacher, is one of the possible candidates. McQuarrie also wrote the screenplay for Valkyrie.

The fourth M:I movie, Ghost Protocol, was released in 2011 and was an immediate box office success.

At the time, Cruise publicized his desire for another sequel:

“I’ll make as many as people want to see, because they’re very challenging and so much fun to make. We’re already working on different images (and) talking conceptually,” said Cruise.

Are you a Mission Impossible fan? Any guesses on when this new one will release?
