Motorola Droid RAZR Goes On Sale Tomorrow

The Motorola Droid RAZR phone was first introduced and made available for pre-ordering about a month ago. Tomorrow it will show up in stores.

The RAZR name is a bit of a throwback, harkening back to the original RAZR family of phones that were launched in 2003. Back then the RAZR was a clamshell phone and was quite the rage. Over 130 million of them were sold over four years. The phones were stylish and super thin – and at the time, considered very cool. But while Droid-RAZRthey looked smart… they were no smartphone.

Motorola has brought back the RAZR name and given it to their new smartphone – and it fits. The Motorola Droid RAZR is not a clamshell, but it is stylish and.thin. In fact it’s the world’s thinnest smart phone, just Just 7.1 mm thick… or 0.27 of an inch. It’s lightweight too, just a bit less than 4.5 ounces.

The Droid RAZR runs on Verizon’s 4G LTE network, comes with Android 2.3.5, has a 4.3 inch Super AMOLED Gorilla Glass touchscreen, and according to Verizon, will be the first smartphone that will be able to download HD movies from Netflix. It also features MotoCast, which allows the user to remotely stream content from their computer straight to the device.

The smartphone is priced at $300 with purchase of a new two-year contract from Verizon, or $650 off contract.
