Last night NBC revealed that Heroes would be returning as a thirteen episode event miniseries called “Heroes Reborn”.
Heroes Reborn, which will premiere in 2015, will feature a new stand-alone story arc.
Heroes first aired from 2006 to 2010 and immediately became a cult hit. Although the first season had an average of 14.5 million viewers, Heroes ratings steadily declined after the second season.
Despite the show being cancelled in 2010, DVD sales remained high due to a steady fan base.
NBC has announced that Tim Kring, the original creator and producer, will be returning as the head of the show’s reboot. However, they have not revealed any details about storylines and characters.
