The new Avengers trailer is out and it has cameos by all the heroes and even the villain. There is a sense of what the movie is going to be about; an epic adventure on a planetary scale. Lots of explosions and lots of inner rivalry within the Avengers team itself.

The trailer opens with a voiceover from Loki (the villain from the Thor movie), saying “You were made to be ruled”, and then there are a series of explosions down a pakced city street. Samuel L. Jackson’s Nick Fury character comments about the need to bring together a group of extraordinary people to fight battles “we never could”. Of course, that would be the Avengers!

Captain America (Chris Evans) slams Tony Stark (Robert Downey, Jr.), who calmly unslams himself making Captain America look a bit foolish. Thor (Chris Hemsworth) laughs heartily in the background. Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson) does some posing with a gun and gets into some hand-to-hand combat. Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner) shows up nocking a few arrows. Last but not least, Iron Man tells David Banner aka The Hulk (Mark Ruffalo) he admires his work and the way he loses control and becomes a creature of rage. The last part of the trailer is Iron Man saying “If we can’t protect the Earth, you can be damn sure we’ll avenge it.”

The Avengers, which will star Robert Downey, Jr, Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner, and Samuel L. Jackson, is set to hit theaters in the US on May 4, 2012. Here’s the just released trailer:
