New Cheap Printers Now Available From Cannon: Still Feature Rich

Two brand new PIXMA printers were released by Canon this week.  The new printers sport cheap prices – the iP4920 goes for $100 and the all-in-one wireless MG5320 goes for $150.  The printers come with some significant upgrades to their accompanying Easy-PhotoPrint EX and Full HD Movie Prints software.  Both PIXMA color printers can print a 4” by 6” borderless photo in 20 seconds and have a maximum color resolution of 9600 x 2400 dpi6.  The MG5320 includes a 3-inch LCD screen for easy navigation of the menus.

Users that register with the CANON iMAGE GATEWAY service or Picasa Web Albums receive access to the PIXMA Cloud Link.  The PIXMA Cloud Link allows printing of photos stored in photo albums in those services directly to the PIXMA MG5320 printer without a computer.  The PIXMA Cloud Link also provides access to exclusive templates like stationary, envelopes, memos and calendars.  The MG5320 printer is also 802.11n Wi-Fi certified for fast network transfer rates and can be setup with the press of one button using a Wi-Fi Protected Setup.

In August, a special Canon EPP mobile app will be launched that is compatible with Android and Apple smartphones.  The app will allow documents scanned on the MG5320 printer to be sent directly to the compatible smartphone.  Conversely, photos and pdf documents created with the app can be printed directly to the MG5320 printer.
