New HDTV Offers 3D Without Dizziness – First In The US

The new LW9800 series of backlit 3D LED high-definition TVs were just announced by LG.  The HDTVs come in two sizes – 55-inch and 47-inch – with both featuring “Nano LED” technology that enables local dimming from as many as 2,300 sources in the larger model and 480MHz motion technology. It includes standard features like Cinema 3D, Magic Motion gesture remote control and the real top of the line standout – the deep blacks and the industry’s highest 10,000,000:1 contrast ratio.

According to LG, the Cinema 3D experience brings simplicity to the equation with comfortable, lightweight 3D glasses that don’t have to be recharged and are easily replaceable.  There is a proprietary 2D to 3D conversion technology built-in to ensure plenty of shows and movies in high quality 3D. Cinema 3D is the world’s first 3D display technology to receive “Flicker-Free” certification – a European test that means viewers shouldn’t experience dizziness or disorientation while watching 3D.  With Wide Viewing Angle and affordable glasses, the LG LW980S is perfect for watching in large groups.

The LG LW980S includes Wi-Fi connectivity and Smart Share which allows sharing content between the TV, mobile phone and other digital devices.

The NANO FULL LED lighting technology disperses light more evenly across the screen to create brighter, clearer and smoother pictures no matter how fast the action. The LG LW980S will be shown for the first time to international audiences at IFA Berlin, the global trade show for consumer electronics from September 2-7 in Germany.
