It looks like we won’t be getting any new seasons of 24 in the foreseeable future, according to Kiefer Sutherland. He was quoted saying
“Me, I don’t see going back to it. We had set out to do 12 episodes to end the show and deal with some of the past history of the show. It was also an irresistible opportunity to go shoot in England. So for all of those reasons it made sense to do that last season.”
The 12 episodes to end the deal, he’s referring to, is Live Another Day. It wasn’t received too well as reflected by reviews and ratings, and Kiefer doesn’t seem to think it’ll get any better.
To add to that, however, Sutherland added “But I think I said the same thing at the end of season 8 so I would hate to be held to that.”
I know fans will miss this show, as I will. Hopefully in the future the powers that be can bring about a great new revival of the series that pleases everyone.
24 will probably be the first thing people remember from his vast career. He’s the only actor to be in every single episode, so if it does start up again they’ll need him to be on board.
