RIP Sam Simon

Sad day today as writer and creator for The Simpsons, Sam Simon, died at the age of 59 – losing his battle with cancer.

Simon was a nine-time Emmy award winner. Before The Simpsons he produced Taxi and Cheers.

He recently devoted his time, money, and energy to helping out animals world wide through the Sam Simon foundation.

Hank Azaria, who voices multiple characters on the show, just tweeted, “Rest in peace and thank you for The Simpsons, Sam Simon.”

Sam previously announced he would be leaving his nearly $100 million fortune to his various charities.

RIP Sam Simon. Thank you for your great work.
