The unlocked version of Sony Xperia Z was recently listed as available for purchase in US from Sony’s online store for an unsubsidized price of $630.
The company has now announced the Sony Xperia SP is available for pre-order.
The device comes with a 4.6-inch display with a resolution of 720 pixels, 1 GB RAM, 8 GB of internal SD memory, a Snapdragon S4 Pro 1.7 GHz dual-core processor, an 8 mega-pixels back camera, a VGA front camera and NFC.
The smartphone runs on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean.
Though the handset doesn’t fall in line with the Xperia ZL or Xperia Z, the features are decent and it has a similar durable design.
The Xperia SP can be pre-ordered for $489.99.
But keep in mind that the Sony Xperia ZL and Z, which cost about $150 more, have double the specs than Xperia SP.
May 20th is the shipping date listed for Xperia SP. It comes in two color options; white and black.
