Super-Portable 4G Netbook – Goes On Sale Tomorrow

Light, inexpensive and current – all describe the new Compaq Mini CQ10-688nr being launched by Verizon tomorrow.  It is the first netbook to offer LTE technology to take advantage of Verizon’s 4G LTE network.

The Compaq Mini comes with a 1.66GHz Intel Atom Processor N455, a huge 250GB hard drive, 1GB DDR3 memory, 10.1-inch WSVGA LED display with 1024×600 resolution, and a VGA webcam with integrated digital microphone all in a 3.1 pound package.  It comes installed with Windows 7 Home Starter.  With the Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n support and the 4G LTE radio, the HP Cloud Drive is easily accessible for upload and download of files on the go. For additional media needs, the Compaq Mini also features a multi-format digital media card reader for SD cards, multimedia cards, memory stick and memory stick pro media.

Users of Verizon’s 4G LTE network can expect download speeds of 5MB to 12MB per second and upload speeds of 2MB to 5MB per second on average in the 4G Mobile Broadband coverage areas.

The Compaq Mini CQ10-688nr will be available online at Verizon on August 4th for $449.99.  Mobile Broadband plans include $30 monthly access (2GB monthly allowance), $50 monthly access (5GB monthly allowance) and $80 monthly access (10GB monthly allowance).
