The blockbuster film The Hobbit – An Unexpected Journey, has just been released on DVD.
The film has surpassed $1 billion dollar in lifetime gross worldwide, joining an elite few films to do that. Only 15 movies have done that in the history of film.
The Hobbit – An Unexpected Journey follows the start of Bilbo Baggins adventures when he is invited and embarks on a quest to restore lost Dwarf Kingdom of Erebor to its rightful heir. to do this, they must wrest it from the fearsome clutches of the dragon Smaug.
Their wild adventures force them into encounters with al sorts of creatures including Goblins, Orcs, and Sorcerers. Along the way, they even meet one of the stars of the Lord Of The Rings films, Gollum where he first loses the “Precious” ring that has a far more serious fate that it’s simple gold ring design would suggest.
The hobbit is rated PG-13 for fantasy violence and scary moments that may frighten small children.
It is available from Amazon for $14.99 for the DVD + Ultraviolet Digital copy, Two- Disc Special Edition, or $27.99 for the Blu-Ray 3D/Blu-Ray/DVD combo pack.
Best Buy matches Amazon’s price for the Blu-Ray combo pack, but charges slightly more ($16.99) for the DVD set. Walmart has the DVD for $14.99 and the Blu-Ray combo pack for $29.96.
Walmart has the DVD + Ultraviolet Digital copy priced at $17.98 and the Blu-Ray 3D/Blu-Ray/DVD combo pack for $24.96.
Over at Target, the Blu-Ray back is $27.99. The DVD version is not listed.
