The New Apple iPods: Prices, Specs & Availability

The Apple iPod is no doubt the best music player of all time with over 300 million iPods sold to date.

Apple today updated the iPod line of music players with some much needed improvements.

The New Nano: Big. but Small

The iPod Nano now features a 2.5 inch screen, bluetooth connectivity and widescreen video entertainment. The iPod Nano also has an FM tuner integrated, fitness and pedometer built in. The new Lightning dock connector is just the perfect icing on the cake. Apple is also touting that the new iPod Nano has the longest battery life of any Nano model ever. At 5.4 mm thin, it is 38% thinner than the previous generation iPod Nano.

iPod Touch Updated

The iPod Touch has also received a much needed update. With a 6.1 mm thin and 88 gram body, it is the thinnest iPod Touch to date. Not a surprise on Apple’s part, it also features the same 4inch screen on the iPhone 5. The new iPod Touch has a dual core A5 chip with dual core graphics. The iPod Touch also has a 720p FaceTime HD camera with face detection, multiple wireless connectivity such as Bluetooth 4.0 and Wi-Fi a/b/g/n, a Lightning dock connector, and for the first time, Siri on the iPod touch.

Apple has also added AirPlay mirroring to the iPod Touch. The iPod Touch is also available in multiple colours outside of the normal white and black. The new iPod Nanos and iPod Touch will be available this October starting at $149 and $299 respectively. No details yet on when they will be available for pre-ordering, but stay tuned and we will relay that info when available.

Dont Forget the EarPods

Late to the party but still on time, Apple also announced new EarPods. The new headphones are designed to provide direct sound into the ear. The EarPods are a stand alone accessory available today from Apple.
