The Practical And Inexpensive 2015 Nissan Rogue

The Nissan Rogue was redesigned for the 2014 model year, and was welcomed with record sales and numerous awards.

For 2015 the Rogue received a few significant enhancements aimed at fulfilling the needs of a broader audience.

The Xtronic transmission now has an Eco mode, heated cloth seats are now standard on the SV Premium package and a new blue exterior colour, called Arctic Blue Metallic, joins the lineup.

As before the Rogue has the option of 7 passenger seating with the addition of the 3rd row seat.

The interior features flexible storage features such as Divide-N-Hide cargo system and EZ Flex seating. The Divide-N-Hide system allows 18 variations, in two row models, including an out of site cargo option.

The second-generation Rogue’s exterior offers a wide opening rear doors for easier entry and exit to the rear seats.

The styling is aggressive with sharp body lines and optional 18” wheels. Other highlights include LED daytime running lights, and a rear spoiler.

Optional exterior equipment includes: LED headlights with auto leveling, fog lights, privacy glass, roof rails, heated outside mirrors, power lift-gate and power panoramic moonroof.

The interior is comfortable and offers more space than you may expect. This extra space is due to the new seats, a centre console that has been moved forward and lower door trim height. The net result of these adjustments is a 70 cubic foot cargo capacity, when the rear seats are folded flat. This cargo area is long enough to accommodate an 8-foot ladder.

On the tech front the Rogue comes with Bluetooth, audio streaming, USB ports, and hands free texting. Available technology and smartphone integration includes the NissanConnectSM with Navigation and Mobile Apps, with 7.0-inch color touch-screen display, Voice Recognition for navigation and audio, NavTraffic and NavWeather, SiriusXM® Travel Link.

To help the driver maneuver the Rogue is the available Around View Monitor (AVM) with Moving Object Detection (MOD). The system uses four small wide-angle cameras to provide a “bird’s eye” virtual 360° view of objects around the vehicle. The Rogue can also be had with Blind Spot Warning (BSW), Lane Departure Warning (LDW) and Forward Collision Warning (FCW).

All 2015 Nissan Rogue’s make use of a 2.5-liter 4-cylinder engine that produces 170 horsepower and 175 lb-ft of torque. The engine is mated to the next-generation Xtronic CVT® (Continuously Variable Transmission) with standard Sport Mode and Eco switches.

Fuel consumption estimates on the FWD model are: 26/33 mpg or 9.2/7.2 L/100 km City/Highway.

The option of AWD, on all models makes the Rogue a great choice for snow-belt dwellers.

The 2015 Nissan Rogue comes in three well-equipped models, S, SV and SL, each in a choice of front-wheel or all-wheel drive.

The 2015 Nissan Rogue starts at $22,790 US and $23,998 CA.
