Walmart Black Friday 1-Hr Guarantee: Working So Far This Year?

Walmart’s Black Friday 1-Hour Guarantee seems to be working out okay this year.

That’s not the way it was last year, nor the year before, nor the year before that.

During Walmart’s 2012, 2013 and 2014 Black Friday sales, CP was flooded with readers telling us how angry they were about Walmart’s Black Friday 1-Hour Guarantee program.

(See: Walmart Guarantee Card: Shoppers Frustrated By Registration Site (2012)).

This year, CP readers have been quiet so far.

Walmart’s 1-Hour Guarantee deals for 2015 included an iPad Air 2 Gold 16GB Wi-Fi for $399, Beats Studio Headphones for $169, an LG 55” Smart 4K UHD TV for $698, an Xbox One 500GB Gears of War Bundle with a $30 Walmart Gift Card for $299, and a 15” HP Touch Laptop for $249.

Walmart’s 1-Hour Guarantee promised shoppers that if they were in line for specific Black Friday sale item between 6pm to 7pm on Thanksgiving Day, they would be guaranteed that the item would either be in-stock and available, or the shopper would be able to buy a voucher at the sale price and pick the item up before Christmas.

Problems reported in the past included Walmart employees being confused about how the 1 hour guarantee worked, trouble registering receipts, and trouble with Walmart’s website.

Did you use Walmart’s 1-Hour Guarantee program this year?

Were you able to get your voucher and register your receipt okay?  When do you expect to pick up your deal?
