Big shopping days used to be limited to certain holidays, such as Labor Day, President’s Day, and Columbus Day. Green Monday, a relatively newly named shopping day, is on December 10th this year and many retailers are hoping to cash in by attracting customers to traditional stores and online outlets.
A press release from Walmart published on December 6th indicates that the company “is rewarding customers with a big ‘one-day only’ online event on Monday, Dec. 10, including up to 60 percent savings on top toys, electronics and more.”
To garner further interest, the press release goes on to partially describe one of the deals that will only be made public on Green Monday. According to the company, one of Walmart’s biggest Green Monday deals will be a 55 inch LED HDTV.
Of course, there is a caveat – this one-day only deal is only good “while supplies last.” According to the release, however, it will at least come with free shipping.
Other teasers they have released include items such as a Razor Scooter for $20, a trampoline for $225, a 50 inch LCD TV for $399, and a few other toys and electronics.
In the press release, Walmart has also clarified shipping options and cutoff dates to ensure delivery before Christmas Day. These include Standard Shipping and Site to Store (Dec. 19), Expedited Shipping (Dec. 20), Rush Shipping (Dec. 21) and Site to Store for Same-Day Pickup (Dec. 24, noon, local time).
