There is currently a rather nasty email scam going around. The email claims to be from Microsoft, containing an attachment that will update your computer to windows 10 – Microsoft is rolling out updates through windows directly, if you receive this email, it is not from Microsoft!
The attachment actually contains a CTB-Locker, a particularly nasty piece of software that encrypts all of the files on your computer, and holds them for ransom, requiring you to pay a large sum of money to get your files back.
The email is fairly convincing, coming from an update@microsoft.com address, so be aware – Microsoft are not rolling out updates via email!
