Woody Allen Is Creating A TV Series With Amazon

Woody Allen was signed by Amazon Studios to helm a TV series that he will write and direct.

The “Untitled Woody Allen Project”, will be a half-hour series and has already received a full season order from Amazon. The TV show will be exclusively available on Amazon Prime Instant Video in the US, Germany, and UK.

President of Amazon, Roy Price, had this to say, “Woody Allen is a visionary creator who has made some of the greatest films of all-time, and it’s an honor to be working with him on his first television series. From ‘Annie Hall’ to ‘Blue Jasmine,’ Woody has been at the creative forefront of American cinema and we couldn’t be more excited to premiere his first TV series exclusively on Prime Instant Video next year.”

And in true Woody Allen fashion he replied with, “I don’t know how I got into this. I have no ideas and I’m not sure where to begin. My guess is that Roy Price will regret this.”

I’m excited to see Allen work in the TV medium. He could have a hilarious, fresh take on a modern day sitcom. Are you looking forward to his new show? Let us know by commenting below.
