World Of Warcraft PS4 – MMO Would Require A Different Direction, Says Blizzard

A lot of developers are excited about PlayStation 4, and many of them have come out to praise the hardware.

Greg Street, the lead systems designer for Blizzard, is also excited about PS4, especially when the topic of World of Warcraft (an MMORPG) comes in.

While talking to NowGamer, he said he is very excited to see it happening. However, it’s going to be a big challenge to take a game that has a massive hard drive footprint and relies on mouse and keyboard and make it for a console.

He also mentions they’re going to take a different direction when developing an MMO for consoles.

As for the general discussion on next-gen consoles, he believes the next few years are going to be interesting in the industry, with powerful consoles, smartphone and tablet gaming going head to head to win gamers attention.

Greg concludes he doesn’t know where it’s going to go, but it’s going to be a fun ride.

What do you have to say? Next-gen consoles or smartphones and tablets?
